Construction
We provide clients with a comprehensive health and safety support role on construction projects, covering planning supervision, contractor auditing, training and advice on health and safety risks related to the construction, use and maintenance of buildings and associated infrastructure.
Our consultants are highly experienced and qualified construction professionals. They work proactively with our clients to develop a positive health and safety culture and ensure that the principles of CDM (and other relevant legislation) are integrated into the management of contracts in a practical way. We have been providing this role since the CDM Regulations were introduced in 1995 for clients in both public and private sector.
Our support role can help you achieve:
- reduction of lost time and possible financial penalties by ensuring workforce involvement and ownership;
- achievement of continuous improvement in health and safety standards through working closely with contractors and sub-contractors.
Independent Planning Supervision – a proactive role as part of the Client’s team, assisting and encouraging the process of designing for safety and ensuring adequate communication of health and safety information and transfer of immediate responsibility for managing health and safety risks.
Advice on Health and SafetyRisk – working with your labour force to develop practicable solutions to safeguard their health and safety, with a focus on hazard identification and management rather than generic risk assessment.
Construction safety - assisting Clients to develop safety management systems by integrating the requirements of the CDM Regulations into their business processes.
Contractor competence assessment – supply chain Health and Safety Competence Assessment Process including: supplier competence evaluation; competence score modelling system; planning and control of supply chain audits and surveillance programmes to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
Contractor auditing - providing an auditing role during the construction phase, monitoring contractors’ performance against their Health and Safety Plans and in line with best practice.
